How It Got Started

In 2008, as a senior in high school, Bethel Grove started her YouTube Channel under the username "HPgirl0609". She didn't have much of a plan for the types of videos she would make and for the first several years, she made whatever videos she wanted to make without much direction. 

In 2014, Bethel started this website under the name "Carpe Aeternatatum" [a Latin phrase that means "seize eternity"]. Again, she didn't have much of a plan for what she wanted to do other than right what she felt led to right.

Around the same time, she recorded a video of spoken word poetry called "A Princess Worth Dying For". This video became influential in the types of videos she would write in the future.

Soon after starting this site, she was accepted onto her first social media book team, which ended up gradually shifting her focus to book launching (participating in book launch teams) and book reviews.

In 2018, Bethel unified her YouTube Channel, this website, and her online presence to the name "Princess Worth Dying For Ministries". This type, based on her first spoken word poem, was meant to reflect her desire to help the next generation see their value in God's eyes, allowing them to see the world through the lens of the cross.

Not long after this change became official, Bethel experienced a life charging trial that changed her ministry interest to youth ministry after a few years of volunteering and a year of co-leading a youth ministry. To learn more about this part of her story, click here 

In 2020, Bethel fulfilled her dream of becoming an author through self-publishing when she released her first book, Beyond Your Wardrobe. While she continued to review and launch other author's books, she was now using that experience to launch her own. Because of her interest in youth ministry, many of the books she published were youth ministry or student focused resources.

As you can probably tell, Bethel's interests had led her to many different places on her creative and professional journey. She had tried many different types of writings on this blog before landing on book launching and book reviewing. She tried many different types of videos on YouTube, including spoken word poetry, vlogs, and other types of Christian content. Then, she became interested in youth ministry and self-publishing. Bethel eventually can to realize that in order to clarify what her work and branding, it was necessary to once again change her ministry name and clarify the outreaches of her ministry.

Why "Abiding Grace"?

When Bethel came to choosing a new name for her ministry, she came to settle on the name "Abiding Grace Ministries". She came to choose this name based on two verses that don't often get associated with one another but together express her mentality behind her ministry and business.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." - John 15:5 ESV

"God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work." - 2 Corinthians 9:8 ESV

John 15:5 reminds us that in Christ, we can only bear fruit and do what we are called to do if we choose to abide in Christ. 2 Corinthians 9:8 reminds us that God will give us the grace we need for any situation. Bethel believes that if we choose to abide (or plug into) in Christ, God will gives us the grace we need to abound in all situations, especially when we give of ourselves.

By this mindset, Bethel uses this ministry to serve others and earn income through three of her greatest passions: writing Christian books, launching/promoting Christian books, and youth ministry.
